Biography

Prof. Dr. Ir. Umar Santoso, M.Sc. graduated with a bachelor's degree in agricultural technology from UGM Yogyakarta in 1983. In 1985 he was appointed as a lecturer at the Faculty of Agricultural Technology, UGM. In 1987–1990 he underwent a master's program at Tokyo University of Agriculture, Japan in agricultural chemistry, graduating in 1990. In 1992 he returned to Japan for a doctoral program at the same university in food chemistry and nutrition, graduated 1996.
