Biography

My interests lie in understanding the evolutionary-ecological factors driving warfare and other forms of competition between human groups, together with their impact on the evolution of cooperation, the development of complex societies, and human health. ?To tackle these questions, I develop novel theory and apply existing modelling frameworks in evolutionary biology and anthropology and beyond.
