Biography
Dr. Damir B. Khismatullin trained as a physicist and had extensive postdoctoral training in tissue biomechanics and biomedical acoustics at Boston University (Drs. Nadim, Roy, and Holt’s laboratories), computational modeling of biological flows at Virginia Tech (Dr. Renardy’s laboratory), and cellular biomechanics and parallel-plate flow adhesion assays at Duke University (Dr. Truskey’s laboratory). Thanks to this multifaceted training, I was able to develop a successful research laboratory at Tulane University, with multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals and grant support from federal (NSF, NIH), state (BoR), and private foundations (AHA).
