Biography

Dr. Kazuaki Kakehi obtained his PhD degree at Osaka University (Osaka, Japan) in 1975, and is professor of School of pharmacy, Kinki University (Higashi-Osaka, Japan). At the initial step of his carrier, he was interested in synthetic chemistry of glycans, and succeeded in the synthesis of homo-oligosaccharides of 1-6 glucans. Then, he has been developing various methods for quantitative analysis of carbohydrates using GC, HPLC, CE, and microchip electrophoresis.
