Biography

Professor Igor Rudan is committed to advancing biomedical sciences and reducing global child mortality and has published more than 430 research papers and 7 books focused on global maternal and child health and the genetic basis of human disease. In 2001, Igor founded a biobank in isolated populations of Croatian islands, which has contributed to the discovery of biomedical role for more than 1,000 human genes to date. In an effort to reduce global child mortality, he has served as a consultant of the World Health Organization, UNICEF, The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation,
