Biography

I received B.Sc (Hon.) in Biochemistry from Delhi University, Delhi in 1992 and M.Sc. in Biotechnology in the year 1994 from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India. Subsequently, I joined as a Ph.D. student in the School of Life Sciences, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, and worked in the field of calcium signal transduction under abiotic stresses in plants. I was awarded the Ph.D. degree in the year 1999 and then pursued a post-doctoral career in Prof. Sheng Luan’s lab at the Department of Plant and Microbial Biology, University of California at Berkeley in the year, 2000.
