Biography

Dr. Anthony W Purcell completed his Bachelor of Science Degree with Honors under the supervision of Prof. Milton Hearn at Monash University in 1987. He continued these studies into his PhD.  During that time he was interested in protein and peptide separation and more and more in the very sensitive detection and characterisation of peptides. Following on from that he spent a year in Prof. John Wallace’s lab at the University of Adelaide, Biochemistry Department, studying biotin ligases and pyruvate carboxylase. In July 2012 I was recruited back to Monash as Head of Quantitative Proteomics as a Professorial Fellow.
