Biography

Irene Luque is a full professor in the Department of Physical Chemistry. University of Granada (UGR), Spain. She is a member of the Institute of Biotechnology and “Unidad de Excelencia de Química Aplicada a Biomedicina y Medioambiente” of UGR. She obtained her Ph. D. in Chemistry in 1998, on the development of algorithms for structure-based design of peptide ligands, their application of HIV-1 protease inhibition and the elucidation of the molecular basis of resistance. These algorithms have been patented and licensed to several pharmaceutical companies.
