Biography

Working on pathophysiology, pharmaco-therapeutic interventions and transgenic knock out mouse model approaches to study chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), associated with pulmonary hypertension (PH). Identification of novel targets and regenerative approaches for the treatment of COPD and PH is the main goal. The major focus is to investigate the role of oxidative and nitrosative stress-associated molecules and lung repair-related proteins focused on molecular biological investigation of NADPH oxidase, NO synthase and FGF-related pathway using cigarette smoke-/elastase-induced emphysema/PH models.
