Biography

Professor Heiss was born and educated in Chile and received an MD from the University of Chile in 1968, an MSc in Social Medicine from the University of London in 1973, and a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina in 1976, remaining on the faculty at North Carolina as Professor and as Director of Graduate Studies..Dr. Heiss trained in internal medicine and epidemiology. His interests involve the training of early career scientists and his areas of research include noninvasive measures of vascular disease in populations;
